Checkmates is a private challenge app for small friend groups. We collect the minimum needed to run it, and we never sell your data.
We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or health data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Challenges are proved with photos. The app asks for camera and photo-library access only when you tap to upload, and only the image you pick is sent. Images are compressed on your device before upload.
Photos, comments and points are visible only to members of the group you posted them in. Nothing is public, and photos are served through short-lived signed links rather than open URLs.
Data is stored in our managed cloud backend (database, authentication and file storage), encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by per-row security rules so members can only read data from their own groups.
Profile → Delete account permanently removes your profile, uploaded photos, comments, votes and points. You can also request deletion by emailing support@checkmates.app — we action requests within 30 days. Blocking a user is instant and stored only against your own account.
Checkmates is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Depending on where you live you may request a copy, correction or deletion of your data, or object to processing. Email support@checkmates.app.
