Delete your account

You can delete your Checkmates account and all of its data at any time. There are two ways to do it.

Option 1 — In the app (instant)

1. Open Checkmates and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm on the “Are you sure?” prompt.

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

Option 2 — By email

Email support@checkmates.app from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We complete verified requests within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your account and login credentials
• Your profile: username, display name, bio and profile photo
• Every photo you uploaded as challenge proof, and your check-in images
• Your comments, likes/dislikes, votes and challenge proposals
• Your points, streaks, group memberships and friend connections

What may remain

Challenges you created stay in your groups so other members' history isn't broken, but they are no longer attributed to you. Abuse reports you filed are retained in anonymised form for safety and legal reasons. Encrypted backups roll off within 30 days.
